EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE LETTER
April 1979

To: General Councilors, Society Presidents, and Field Representatives

Berkeley Elliott and a group of Oklahoma City people went to Kansas City March 9-10 to attend a get-together of some 80-90 students of The Urantia Book. They had a stimulating program and good fellowship. The Oklahoma group presented Jesus: God and Man to those attending. John Hales and others who were at the Fourth Florida Conference at Bradenton March 16-18 reported the meeting was well attended. The presentations were of high quality and the discussions and fellowship were excellent.

Dick Prince tells of the outstanding leadership of Douglas Fraser in South America. Their Bogota study group has around thirty regular members who meet weekly for several hours. Dick plans to visit them in June. The Executive Committee has decided to send Lynne Kulieke with Dick to meet the group.

There has been a mutual desire by Field Representatives and the Executive Committee to find time for fellowship. The Executive Committee is setting aside Friday evening, August 17, to get together with Field Representatives at 533 Diversey for informal visiting and sharing ideas. Helena Sprague reports that Peter Sarfaty has a rare form of malignancy on his leg associated with the skin. He has been receiving treatments at a hospital in Albuquerque. We hope these treatments will be efficacious and we hold him in our prayers and love.

The Executive Committee has passed a motion requiring all new societies to sign the Licensing Agreement as part of the requirements for receiving a charter. The First Urantia Society of Fort Wayne, Indiana, has received approval to change its name to the Fort Wayne Urantia Society. At the recommendation of the Charter Committee, the Executive Committee voted to give a society charter to the Urantia Society of Central Connecticut. We look forward to the installation service of this new society in the near future.

I should like to ask all General Councilors to let me know of items which they would like to have on the agenda of the Triennial meeting of the General Council. Please get your requests to me by June 1. I should like to ask all officers, departmental chairmen, and Field Representatives to prepare written reports for the Triennial Delegate Assembly.

These reports should be in the Brotherhood office by July 1, 1979. They will be sent in advance to all Triennial Delegate Assembly Delegates and General Councilors. Douglas Fraser of Fresno, CA, John Marshall Andrews of Juneau, OK, Lilianna Vitols of Marlborough, CT, and John Needham Schmedes of West Dennis, MA, were elected as members-at-large. Enclosed is a revised directory of officers of all Urantia societies.

We should like to extend our best wishes to the Mid Atlantic Conference to be held in Washington, D.C. April 28 and to the Spiritual Renaissance Conference and the San Francisco Bay Area Urantia Society Conference at Berkeley May 5-6.

Cordially,

Meredith J. Sprunger, President
