Mr. David N. Elders, President
The Fifth Epochal Fellowship
529 Wrightwood Avenue
Chicago, Illinois 60614

Dear David:

In your letter of March 19, 1990, you resumed the discussion of arrangements for a meeting  between representatives of Urantia Foundation and the Fifth Epochal Fellowship, and you accepted the agenda that the Trustees proposed in our letter of February 14:

1. Restoring friendly relations between our two organizations.

2. The participation of members of the Fifth Epochal Fellowship in:

a. The library placement program.

b. The bookstore consignment program.

C. The development of study aids in print, electronic, and audio‑visual media.

In addition, you suggested that the meeting be held on April 29.

Because of scheduling conflicts, that date was not suitable for us. At first we focused on the need to identify an alternate time, as well as a specific location. But before we had resolved those questions satisfactorily, we became intensely concerned by the worsening climate of ongoing communications between the Foundation and the Fellowship, and their respective attorneys, regarding a number of issues. As you know, those issues include the Fellowship's continuing failure to settle debts with the Urantia Foundation and Andite Corporation, its unremitting assault on the Foundation, and its recent attacks on Urantia Brotherhood Association ‑ as discussed in the attached letter.

In our view, the existence of these areas of contention opposes and undermines the goal of restoring, friendly relations, which both organizations have accepted as the first item on the agenda of the intended meeting. The Trustees are concerned that under existing circumstances, a meeting, between representatives of Urantia Foundation and the Fifth Epochal Fellowship would increase tensions rather than reduce them. We therefore think it appropriate to suspend our preparations for such a meeting, with the intention of reverting to that question whenever the overall climate seems to be favorable.

Sincerely,

The Trustees of URAN'TIA Foundation
