Dear M:

We have your August 16 letter of resignation and we agree that the date of Friday, September 15, 1989 shall be your last day of employment with Urantia Foundation.  We know that you have been unhappy and resentful for some years during your employment with Urantia Foundation, and we are sorry that our efforts to make it better for you failed. Perhaps if you had communicated your true concerns to us we could have worked together effectively in resolving your difficulties.

Obviously one Trustee has not met your personal liking. I assume that you are referring to me. My personal shortcomings must indeed be a great. However, if you are referring to me, I must deny your charges with respect to my administration of Foundation affairs. Not only are your charges vague, but also they simply are not true. I am especially interested in proof of any "cover‑up and lack of communication when mistakes are made.” “disdain instead of respect for the readership” and “suspicion and paranoia in place of trust,” in addition to proof  of  the other charges. What examples do you have of the failure of the group decision making process within the Board of Trustees? I am as eager as any to know, since apparently only I can make the necessary corrections.

These are serious charges and I ask that you please detail your proof of them not only for me, but also for the other Trustees. Absent your response on a timely basis, one can only assume, that your charges of wrongdoing and impropriety are baseless.

We appreciate your willingness to continue to render what help you can in the pursuit of the Spanish and Finnish translations.

We can only wish you the best in your future, wherever you may work.

Very truly yours,

Martin W. Myers
